API Membership Information

Would you like to become an API member? Well, do not hesitate. For the months of November and December there is a special promotion. Becoming an API member provides you with opportunity to receive a weekly ENewsletter, Parent Compass; four quarterly journals of The Attached Family; access to our The Attached Family online extension of the quarterly journal. By becoming a member of Attachment Parenting International (API), you help reach other parents and professionals through education, support, advocacy, and research. API's efforts touch the lives of parents worldwide through local support groups, their quarterly publication, The Attached Family, the online extension of The Attached Family web site, the monthly API Links e-newsletter, and national advocacy efforts. In addition, your membership donation contributes to innovative projects such as the creation of a comprehensive Attachment Parenting curriculum, the formation of strategic alliances with like-minded organizations, the expansion of our network of Professionals, and the the ability to perform outreach efforts such as their campaign "Safe Sleep".

As you can see, Attachment Parenting International depends upon individual memberships and donations to accomplish their goal of Nurturing children for a compassionate world. Additionally, API of North Fulton depends upon your API membership and donations in order to provide your local community with continued support that we offer and in which we are always looking to improve upon. We need your help in this endeavor, so please read the below membership benefits and consider becoming an API member or donating to API and/or API of North Fulton.

What is included in an API Membership?

From the Attachment Parenting International level, you receive the following benefits:

4 issues of The Attached Family (Online or postal mail delivery in North America) as well as access to the magazine online extension of The Attached Family web site
Weekly E-Newsletter for members only, Parent Compass
Discounts on pricing and early registration for API Conferences and select other events.
Membership in API of North Fulton; join through API of North Fulton and $15 is retained for use in your community.
Share your passion: Become an API Leader with Stephanie and Cason, start a new parent support group more local to you than API of North Fulton, or donate your skills to the API Volunteer Team

From the API of North Fulton level, you receive the following benefits:

Access to the API of North Fulton lending library, which is available at all meetings or available to be brought to other social events
Ability to participate in Weekly Hikes, Friday Playgroup, Monthly Moms Events, and quarterly family field trips
Ability to choose what books will be implemented into the lending library per quarter
Recipient of a CARE Committee New Baby welcome basket
Access to the API of North Fulton quarterly journal archives
Decision of what topics to cover in our meetings

You do not need to be a paying API member to benefit from the following: attending and participating in our monthly meeting, Wednesday playgroup, being a member of our Yahoo Group and participating in our parties.

How does API of North Fulton spend the money they receive from memberships and donations?

We use the funds in our bank account to provide the following to you and your community:

Annual Support Group Affiliation Fee that is $25 a year to International
Buying 1 new book each quarter
Printing costs associated with meeting materials, membership renewal reminders, fliers for special events, API advocacy materials
Bulk supply of paper goods that we use for meetings and all social events
Expenses associated with our two annual parties; Fall Harvest Party and Spring Celebration Party
Web site and forum maintenance fees
Miscellaneous operating expenses such as stamps, paper, envelopes, tape, etc.

What is the cost of API membership?

The cost is $35.00 a year and is tax deductible.

How do I become a member?

If you join through postal mail, API receives the full benefits of your membership without PayPal taking a cut of the transaction. Please send your check payable to API of North Fulton to:
